I love these shorts! Very comfortable, no pinching anywhere. Great pockets and wonderful material.
Love this brand as a whole everything I buy is of great quality. I have a dresser filled of pants shorts sports bras loge sleeve workout shirts and more literaly the best workout clothes!
I am 5'10", about 205 lbs, and usually wear an XL or a size 14 to 16 in pants. I have an hourglass shape and my legs and torso are pretty evenly proportioned. I carry some fullness in my lower stomach and have a small lower abdominal fold, but I do not have an apron belly. My stomach is still relatively flat overall and does not really round or project outward.
I also have PCOS and carry more fullness in that very upper part of my thighs where they meet my groin. Most of my thighs are more in line with my usual 14 to 16 size, but that very top portion fits more like a 16 to 18. I think that is worth mentioning because where you carry your weight really matters with compression shorts.
I originally ordered an XL and they fit me comfortably. The compression was actually really nice, but I personally wanted something just a little less snug, so I decided to try a 2XL too. I would not say the XL was too small at all. It just gave me more of that held in feeling, while the 2XL still gives me support and smoothing but feels a little lighter.
The waistband sits above my belly button on me and comes up a little higher in the front than the back. Even with the fullness I carry in my lower stomach, it stays comfortable and does not dig in.
The material is really soft and smooth, but it is thicker and more structured than the scrunch leggings I also bought from IUGA. It still has plenty of stretch and feels really comfortable during workouts.
I have worn both sizes for several workouts, including weight training and about an hour on the StairMaster. During regular workouts, moving between machines, sitting, standing, and lifting, they stay in place really well and I do not have to keep adjusting them.
On the StairMaster, once I am working at a more moderate to challenging pace, the legs do gradually creep up a little because of the way I carry fullness at the very top of my thighs. I usually pull them back down a few times during a longer workout, but it is not uncomfortable and they never ride up so much that I feel exposed or annoyed.
I have had other workout shorts ride up and then start cutting into my thighs at the leg opening, which creates that little bulge above the hem. These do not do that. Even when they move up some, the fabric stays comfortable and does not dig into me.
They still sit around mid thigh to slightly above mid thigh on me, which I like.
For me, the XL is great if I want stronger compression, but I personally prefer the 2XL because I like the slightly lighter compression and a little more room through that upper thigh area.
I also have to mention the customer service because it genuinely impressed me. I emailed asking if I could exchange the XL for a 2XL, and they got back to me almost immediately. They told me not to worry about sending the original pair back and that I could keep them or give them to a friend, then sent me the 2XL at no charge. The replacement arrived about two days later.
The customer service honestly made me like the brand even more.
Overall, I really like these shorts. They are soft, supportive, comfortable, and actually work well for exercising. I also appreciate that I could change the level of compression just by going up one size. If you carry more fullness in your lower stomach or very upper thighs like I do, I think that is definitely something to keep in mind when choosing your size.
Fit nice.
I wore the Flex Tight Tummy control shirts for the first time today and it was “okay”. I jump rope, and I noticed that the legs at the thigh slides up a little as I’m doing certain tricks. It’s annoying. I feel like I’m constantly trying to pull them back down all the time. But, other than that they are comfortable and the color is nice and it’s thick so I don’t have to worry about anything showing through the fabric. Wish the legs had some kind of stick to them… oh well.
